How to Wear it Wednesday 8.31.16

Although we still have a few "official" weeks of Summer left, this really feels like the last week of Summer for me. Labor Day weekend always seems like the good bye party for Summer.  The out fit for this week is all about soaking up those last lovely rays of sunshine in comfort and style.

Despite my distaste for inhaling sawdust, thing that keeps me going back to Bryan's scrap pile, are projects that turn out like this.  This pair of Birch earrings from our shop started out as a planned charm, but ended up becoming something entirely different.

How to Wear it Wednesday 2.03.16

With eleven days until Valentine's Day, I am thinking of hearts.  All of the pieces in this week's outfit are handmade, and can be considered slow fashion.  Slow fashion is about enjoying each individual piece - it is what happens to fashion when you combine craftsmanship, ethics, and an environmental awareness. Everything in this week's post (and just about every other htwiw :)). has a timeless quality that will endure well beyond the next trend.  All but one special piece were found on Etsy.

Wood Heart Earrings from Feath & Kee

This pair of earrings from our shop are made from recycled pine.  They have stainless steel posts.  I burned the primitive heart design with a wire tool that I made.

Terry Skirt from Alabama Chanin

Every week, I fall in love with new pieces, and discovering new makers is a constant inspiration.  The Terry Skirt from Alabama Chanin is made from 100% Organic French Terry.  It features hand embrodery and a painted design.  I do not have the space here to adequately explain all that is Alabama Chanin, so I urge you to head over to their website and check them out.

Small Leather Clutch from Juliette Rose Designs

Made from supple, full grain leather, this clutch from Juliette Rose Designs will go anywhere.  Just large enough to fit all of your essentials for a night out on the town, or throw it in your every-day bag so you don't have to dig to find what you need.  Juliette makes all of her bags by hand at her studio in Vermont.

Alia Necklace from Eternal Girl Designs

Symbolizing happiness and devotion, this henna inspired pendant was hand-drawn by the artist, then secured in an atiqued pendant.  Find it at Eternal Girl.

Edom Organic Jeresy Knit Shirt from Blue Ridge Stitches

This shirt from Blue Ridge Stitches is made from 100% Organic Cotton fabric that was milled in South Carolina.  It is available in a variety of hand dyed colors and made to order.

Wool Felted Boots from Momoish

These boots from Momoish are felted from Maori Wool.  They have been designed to hug your feet, and since they are made of wool your feet will be able to breathe.  A virbam sole makes them appropriate for all surfaces.

Shag Faux Fur Jacket from Cloud Hunter Co.

You can be guilt free with this made to order shaggy faux fur coat from Cloud Hunter Co. . It is available in a variety of lengths and colors.  The satin lining adds to this jacket's luxurious feeling.

Treasured Thursday - Forty-fifth Edition

Hello Thursday!  We have gotten quite a bit of rain here recently, it is really feeling like Spring.  Due to just being crazy busy, I am going to put my Treasured Thursday posts on a bit of hiatus for the time being.  I will miss sharing all of the awesome treasuries and shops every week, but I will still continue to promote these through Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.  Also stay tuned here, as I plan to post updates (hopefully) regularly on what's going on behind the scenes at Feath & Kee.  Of all the week's to go out on vacation, this is one.  Feath & Kee were featured in nine great  Etsy treasuries this week.

Vintage Scarf Up-cycled Pillow from Cloud Hunter Co.

So that is that for now.  I would like to say a huge (thank you!!) to Craft Cult.  Their treasury widget and a little bit on fanangling on my part has made it possible to see these awesome treasuries that Feath & Kee have been included in for the past couple of weeks.  Up until a couple of weeks ago, Stylish Home's treasury tool was my go to, but for some reason this and any of the other treasury posting tools that I was able to find are not working - hence my fanangling.

Have a great week!
